Testimonials
  • Once again, I leave a satisfied customer after coming back for the 3rd time. The service is excellent. I asked a lot of questions and they answered with honest truth. Prices are reasonable, plus they give additional 10% discount for military. Consistently friendly service from all employees; I recommend using Shea's Luxury Detail. They've earned my trust and business.

  • Called up Shea's after watching his video on his website. Appointment was made for inside, outside, and engine since I was thinking about selling to get a bigger car. 8.5 hours later, I could not believe my eyes. The inside looked BRAND NEW! The leather was clean and vibrant and ALL stains discoloration were GONE! The outside was glass smooth and looking like it was in the showroom back when I bought it.

  • I found scuff marks on the front of my car hood and fortunately I was in the Kalihi area and stopped in to have Shea's check it out. The Shop Manager Mina who was detailing this sweet Audi RS4 took the time to check out the scratches. He said no problem after inspecting it and 10 minutes later it was practically unnoticeable. Happy? I say Yes! He did the best job that he could buffing it out, it looked a 100x better.
*Mahalo to Mina who made my day a 100% Better!

Shea's Luxury Detail, Car Paint Protection CoatingRemember how beautiful your car’s paint looked when you first saw it in the dealer's showroom? The glossiness and depth of the paint is a large part of what made you fall in love with your baby in the first place, and it is exactly that which draws the most attention when you're cruising around town. Your car’s finish may still shine under the Hawaiian sun, but that means nothing without the original depth and clarity that only comes from proper polishing performed by Shea's Luxury Detail's specialists.

Swirl removal, aka paint correction is a labor-intensive process that utilizes the most recent advances in abrasives (compounds & polishes). The art of safe, modern, and proper buffing techniques is what separates Shea's as Hawaii's premier auto detailer from all the rest, and it is a skillset that has only been mastered by a few professionals. At Shea's, we often spend a lot of time fixing work that was done incorrectly by unskilled buffer operators from other detailers, body shops, manufacturers, and dealership prep departments. We are saddened to see vehicles in such a shape and encourage you to give us a call even if you're not at our shop, just to ensure that proper steps are being followed to maintain the paint on your vehicle.

In addition to all of the detailing packages listed below, we highly recommend the addition of one of our Protective Coatings application to help maintain your new finish for a long period of time!

To give a few examples of the before and after difference of proper paint correction, please refer to the photos below.

As the name suggests, this type of paint correction uses just one stage of machine polishing (also referred to as one-step polishing). While not considered a “perfection detail” given the single stage process, a massive and noticeable change in the condition of the paint can be achieved. On softer paints like the ones used in Japanese vehicles, we can usually remove 50-70% of all swirls, haze, and light defects, whereas on harder paints found in European cars, this could be anywhere between 30% and 50%. There are a lot of different variables that determine just how much restoration that you can safely achieve in a one step process, and we approach each car and paint system accordingly to maximize results for your given budget or goals. There is no single system or product that works for every type of vehicle out there, and at Shea's we have experience in all the modern polishes and techniques so that each vehicle's surface can be cared for properly.

  • Hand wash utilizing non-marring techniques
  • Chemical and / or mechanical process (claying) to remove embedded contaminants in the paint
  • Full wheel / wheel-well detail
  • Single-stage machine polishing process
  • Durable sealant applied to painted surfaces to provide long-lasting protection
  • Door and trunk jambs cleaned
  • Interior detailing
  • Prices starting at $600
Multi-stage paint correction is a lengthier process through which we accomplish a further restoration of the finish by removing all of the swirls, and all but the heaviest of scratches and defects. The multi-stage paint correction process starts with a heavy compounding machine polishing stage to remove any defects, and is closely followed by a secondary polishing stage to refine the finish and increase gloss and clarity. Given the differences in paint types, condition, and size of vehicles, the rate for the Multi-Stage Paint Correction varies, but we will consult with each vehicle owner to provide a more precise pricing structure. The paint type and condition will also dictate the level of correction, but typically this process on most cars will get rid of 80-95% of all defects. At this level of correction, you’re getting very close to that of a brand new vehicle!
